Recent Fundraising Stories

Provision of toilet facilities:

We are currently raising funds for a new toilet block and hand washing facilities for a school in Marpak.  If you wish to donate towards this cause you can do so here.

The toilet project for Khaki Gaun School was successfully completed in 2019 with support from the Bristol Breakfast Rotary Club.   This very remote school was badly destroyed in the earthquake and some classrooms have been rebuilt.  Approx 450 children attend this school and were having to use 2 broken toilets with no drainage.

With the generous help of Chelwood Rotary in North Somerset, a new toilet block was built at Sukaura School.

Earthquake:

Following the devasting earthquakes in Nepal in April and May 2015 and the frequent after shocks most of the buildings in the villages we support were destroyed or very badly damaged.  The Dhading region was extremely close to the epicentre of the first earthquake.

We were able to raise funds to provide immediate aid in the form of food, shelter, clothing and building materials.   65 temporary shelters were especially important as they provide dry housing and food storage.

We have continued to provide books, uniforms and computers to help schools get back to normal.

Community:

We continue to provide funds for some short term and humanitarian initiatives as required.

Thank you so much to everyone who has been so supportive and generous as well as being so creative with their different fund raising ideas!
